Jamie McCloskey, our Elder Care Coordinator, at Levandowski and Darpino has a strong passion for connecting people to the care and services they need! She has been assisting seniors and their families in many aspects of the healthcare field for twenty years.
As a hospital social worker her compassion and empathy, along with her vast knowledge of services and resources, helped ease the decision making process with her patients and families.
While working for the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA), she held a few positions which include Long Term Care Assessment Worker, Placement Specialist and Program Management Specialist.
Jamie has experience working in various positions at Continuing Care Retirement Communities in the Delaware Valley. She has been a Director of Admissions, admitting residents in all levels of care. As Assistant Director of Resident Services, she was responsible for recruiting, training and supervising a volume of companions who provided assistance and support to community residents. She also servced as a moderator of support groups with patients coping with end of life issues.
As Director of Chore Connection at Mid County Senior Services, Jamie networked with numerous schools, social, religious and business organizations and connected hundreds of volunteers with hundreds of low income older adults providing transportation, yard work and minor home repairs.
Jamie has also worked as a care coordinator at a non-medical home care company linking clients with professional caregivers who assisted them with their needs.
Jamie graduated from Millersville University with a B.A. in Psychology in 1976. She is a board member for the Debbie Romano Memorial Foundations benefiting endowment at Drexel University College of Medicine and Saint Christopher Hospital for supporting children with pediatric neurological disorders. She is a former board member and outreach chairperson for a Community Development Corporation in Philadelphia. Jamie loves researching family history, travelling, sports and thrift stores.
